As a reward for his work, the young Hans receives from his master a lump of gold.

Actually he doesn’t really know what to do with that heavy thing. So he exchanges the gold for a horse. The stubborn horse is very soon exchanged for a cow, the lame cow is exchanged for a pig, the cheeky pig for a goose… and so this illustrious interplay goes on and on.


In the end Hans stands there empty-handed and is the happiest.
