Between West and East. Nicolaus A. Huber dedicates this work to the »Arabian 4« – »… der arabischen 4« - and it is to be understood as a call for cultural exchange. The orchestral piece »M/S ›Barıs¸ Manço‹« by Stefan Pohlit bears the name of a passenger ferry in Istanbul that connects the mainland with the islands, the ferry being named after a famous rock star. Inspired by the mystical orientation of Islam, the Palestinian-Israeli composer Samir Odeh-Tamimi contributes a distillate of his preoccupation with Koran chants and Sufi music. And in between, Johannes Moser with the new cello concert by Bernd Richard Deutsch.
