Improfestival Karlsruhe: The Silent Play & Acting with Honesty in Easy English
Veranstalter:
marotte – Theater Karlsruhe , Kaiserallee 11, 76133 Karlsruhe, Deutschland
Veranstaltungsinfos
One Night - Two Shows both directed by International Impro Superstars. Both will be in Easy English
"The Silent Play" directed by Gael Doorneweerd-Perry
From Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton to The Artist, silent cinema has shown us that great stories don’t need words. A gesture, a look, a movement – and, of course, the right music – can say it all.
In Silent Play, the performers create an entire improvised story without speaking a single word. Inspired by a suggestion from the audience, they dive into a unique universe where characters, emotions and adventures come to life through physical storytelling, object work and music.
Whether it turns into a Western, a science-fiction adventure, a fantasy epic or something completely unexpected: everything is created live, in the moment, and will never happen the same way again.
Sit back, open your imagination and let us take you on a journey beyond words.
"Acting with Honesty" directed by Billy Kissa
Acting with Honesty
What happens when improvisers stop trying to be funny, clever or entertaining – and simply allow themselves to be real?
In Acting with Honesty, the performers step onto the stage without knowing who they are, what they want or where their stories will take them. Characters emerge in the moment, relationships develop naturally, and emotions are allowed to be genuine, vulnerable and unexpected.
Inspired by a suggestion from the audience, the performers create scenes in which they truly listen, react and connect. Comedy may happen. Drama may happen. Silence may happen. Nothing is forced – because sometimes the most powerful moments on stage are the simplest and most truthful ones.
An improvised show about human connection, emotional truth and the courage to be present.
No safety net. No predetermined story. Just people finding out what happens next – together.

Seid also live dabei!
