Der Name „Meistersingerhalle“ leitet sich dabei ab von den „Meistersingern von Nürnberg“, den Berufs-Dichtern und Sängern des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts. Der Name unterstreicht damit denZweck und das Ziel der Meistersingerhalle: Das Fortführen und Aufrechterhalten der langen Nürnberger Kulturtradition.
